During the first week after a hair transplant, you can expect some swelling, redness, and discomfort. Tiny scabs will form around the transplanted grafts, and it's crucial to follow post-operative care instructions to minimize infection risks. By the second and third weeks, these scabs will fall off, and any initial swelling will subside. It's normal for the transplanted hairs to shed during this time.
From the first to the third month, you may notice temporary thinning in the transplanted area as new hair growth begins, typically around the three-month mark. Significant hair growth and thickening usually become noticeable between the fourth and sixth months. During this period, some itching or discomfort might occur as new follicles establish themselves.
Between six and twelve months, hair growth continues to improve in density and texture, with most patients seeing full results by the end of the first year. Beyond one year, the transplanted hair will grow naturally. Any minor irregularities in growth or density can be addressed with a follow-up consultation if necessary.
